Elfenstein, owned by Bluewood Trakehners in East Sussex, is a  stunning black stallion with the sweetest temperament.  He was Premium Graded in Neumunster, Germany and successfully completed a 70 day performance test in Schliekau in 2007 where he received a dream score of “10” for his temperament.  He has outstanding confirmation and a wonderful attitude to work with rhythmic elastic movement which is demonstrated by his superb uphill canter.

His sire, the Elite Stallion Hohenstein,  has an incredible breeding and competition record.  He was Premium graded in 1993 and Reserve Champion of his Performance Test in 1994 winning the dressage section with an amazing  148.29.  He has numerous graded sons including the Champion of the 1997 Stallion Grading, Munchhausen, who is now a successful dressage Stallion in his own right.  Hohenstein received the Elite title in 1999 and became Stallion of the Year in 2002. He has been widely used as a refining stallion in the Hanoverian and Oldenburg breeds and his son His Highness became Champion of the Grading in Verden and was sold to the US for 515,000 Euros!
